VIEW FROM OUR BEDROOM WINDOW
LOVELY STROLL ALONG THE RIVERSIDE
We booked up in the nicest hotel we could afford which was the royal york hotel, right next to the train station and yorkshire wheel. When we first arrived at the hotel I was so excited to check in, it's such a breath-taking hotel, although we found out that the location of the room was more in the deserted part of the hotel. Where we stayed was more of a location for events the hotel hosts. Being a Sunday night when we arrived, the place was so empty and a little bit scary too (in the dark I mean). However, our room itself was absolutely amazing. The bed, ohmygosh, it was so comfortable that we, me and David, both compared it to 'sleeping on a cloud'.
We decided to go on the Yorkshire wheel after we unpacked. I'm scared of heights and for me it was terrifying being left dangling at the top! Although I soon got over my fear as we went around another three times. After, we decided to go to the bar for some drinks, I ordered the royal York punch and it was the sweetest but sickliest cocktail I've ever tasted. I love fruit and I love sweet drinks but this was to a whole new extreme. We then decided to go with plain vodka and cokes and I got a little bit too drunk (whoops!).
The following day, we decided to go into York centre where we ended up buying subways and David bought me this book from urban outfitters, this ipad case from jack wills and this sketchbook from Paperchase. The book I will hopefully use as a photo journal for this year, the idea behind it was inspired by Lily's post here, where I will document the places I've been, good things that's happened, etc.
After the shopping trip we ended up being lazy and eating loads of junk food and drinking cream soda in the massive cloud bed.
Honestly, I had such an amazing weekend, and being a home bird, I normally can't wait to come back to my own bed and space however I felt almost sad this morning knowing I had to leave and go back to the college work I'd left behind and deadlines which just stresses me out!
I didn't take a great deal of photographs while I was away mainly because I hate carrying my camera around. it's a DSLR and I'm so lucky to have it but it takes up so much space in my bag plus I haven't got a small camera bag I could safely store it in.
Anyways I must stop rambling as I'm going out soon!
Hope you all have had a lovely weekend/valentines (even if it was as late as mine!)
